Search engine optimization has been in use for a pretty long time. It has
become so popular because the internet is growing at a rapid pace which also
means that search engines are becoming more advanced. The last few years
have been witness to significant evolution in SEO, or the science of ranking
in the search engines. And when something grows huge, there is a lot of
misinformation floating around that you should aware of. The majority of the
stories floating around about SEO may seem quite forbidding and real,
however, they are simply stories. Some of these stories will be proven wrong
in this article.

While there are many things that can help you get a higher search
ranking, using a header tag is not one of them. Even though many people
know that the keywords in the H tags don’t do anything to increase your
rankings, they still continue to believe in the myth.

But you can check the accuracy of this myth by running tests. So the use
of your header tags should be restricted, and you need to only use them
when they got with your page’s design or the CMS (content management
system). Unless it is a major component to your site design, it is
acceptable to not use one.

A majority of people also believe that the words in your Meta tag should
be used on that particular page. Although this idea has been disproven,
it is still taught. These keyword tags are meant to be used to find
words that don’t already appear on the page. While these tags may be
useful for other functions, they are not counted for ranking purposes.

The subject of another myth is your site content. The myth generally
states that you need a minimum of 250 words on your site. Content should
be evaluated by quality of information not word count. Wanting to
optimize as many as 3 to 5 keywords was the source of this myth. Base
your content needs on quality information and not length as a short
version can be just as effective.

A long copy works exactly the same way as the short one. The quality of
your site’s content should be the main focus, not trying to impress
search engines. When writing content, use your judgment on how long is
long enough. Even though SEO takes a lot of work to be effective for
your site, the effort is worth it in the long term. The best way to
learn SEO is through your own trial and error, and forget about all
these fantasies that are completely false.
